• In-depth vocal coaching: tone, placement, stamina, vocal health.
• Acting through song masterclasses with full scene analysis and context.
• Advanced choreography in professional repertoire pieces.
• Self-tape training, mock auditions, industry expectations.
Practitioner & Industry Focus:
• Techniques from Stanislavski, Hagen, Meisner, and Viewpoints, applied to song and movement.
• Exploration of musical theatre history and socio-political contexts (Rent, Cabaret, Spring Awakening).
• Director’s lens: students begin choreographing or staging pieces, understanding musical structure and visual storytelling.
Performance Practice:
• Solo cabarets, audition showcases, fully staged musical scenes.
• Coaching on microphone technique, stage tech, and professional rehearsal etiquette.
Final Outcome:
TLA musical theatre graduates leave with a refined performance technique, a deep connection to character and story, and a fully rounded understanding of musical theatre as both a craft and an industry.
