SCHOLARSHIPS
At TLA, we believe that financial circumstances should never stand in the way of passion, talent, or opportunity. Our Scholarship Programme was created to ensure that students who are facing temporary hardship or ongoing financial difficulty can still access the transformative power of performing arts training.
How it works:
Scholarships are offered on a discretionary basis, assessed case-by-case by the Principals. We understand that every family’s situation is unique, and our aim is to support those who need a little help to stay connected to the work they love
- Initial scholarships are awarded for a term (3 months) and may be extended depending on the circumstances.
- Students must show consistent attendance and commitment during this time.
- Applications are strictly confidential. We do not publicise or disclose which students are on scholarships.
• Support is available for weekly core training sessions only. Scholarships do not cover private tuition (e.g. one-to-one singing or dance lessons), LAMDA exams, or uniform costs.
Who can apply:
The programme is open to:
- Families facing temporary financial hardship
- Students experiencing sudden changes in family or living circumstances
- Long-term students whose continued attendance may be at risk due to financial pressures
Whether a parent has lost work, a family is transitioning through a difficult time, or a student simply needs a short-term lift to remain part of our community, we are here to help where we can.
Our promise:
Our scholarship system is guided by three core principles:
Discretion, dignity and access.
No one outside the TLA Principal Team will know who receives support. Students on scholarship are treated exactly the same as every other student—because they are.
Since TLA began, we’ve awarded over £150,000 in scholarships, all self-funded. We receive no external grants or public funding—this programme is built from our deep belief in fairness, and our commitment to putting children first.
“No child should have to give up their creative joy due to circumstances beyond their control. That’s why we do this.”
— Tonicha Jeronimo, Founder
